Katherine Kirby

Mrs. Katherine Humphries Kirby, age 96 of Boiling Springs, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Wendover Hospice House.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Clary (Wayne) of Florence, SC, Budd Kirby (Michael Cooper) of Charlotte, NC, Mary Parker of Shelby, NC, and Roy Kirby (Barbara) of Irmo, SC, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
Born March 17, 1919 in Cherokee County, SC, Mrs. Kirby was the daughter of the late Roy Anumn Humphries and Vanelia Maxwell (McCraw) Humphries and was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. C.A. Kirby, Jr., and two brothers, Leonard and Wallace Humphries.
Mrs. Kirby's basic goal in life was seeing after her family and supporting her husband. She was the perfect minister's wife. Katherine had worked as a Purchasing Agent for Cleveland Regional Medical Center and as a secretary to the principal of Lattimore Elementary School.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Boiling Springs Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Carroll Page and Rev. Keith McKinney. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church and at other times at the home of Mrs. Kirby.
