Larry Murray

Mr. Larry "Murphy" Gene Murray, age 60 of Shelby, NC, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Peak Resources, Shelby. Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Crestview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Stan Webb and Rev. Ray Farrow. A visitation will be held from 2:00 - 3:00 pm prior to the service at the Church and all other times at the home of Chris and Nichole Murray.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Donna (Weaver) Murray of the home, two sons, Chris Murray and wife Nichole of Shelby, NC, and Justin Murray of Shelby, NC, four grandchildren, Alyssa, Dylan, Paxton, and Tinley, his mother, four brothers, a sister and several nieces and nephews.
Born February 3, 1954 in Rutherford County, Mr. Murray was the son of Dorothy (Hamrick) Murray and the late Horace "Pineknot" Murray. Murphy worked as a mechanic for L & L auto part for more than 26 years. He enjoyed flea markets finding hidden treasures, welding and fabricating, Nascar and drag racing, camping, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.
