Laura Kennedy

Mrs. Kennedy, 94, of Shelby passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain, NC. A native of Cleveland County, she was a homemaker and a member of Zoar Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher and in other church missions groups. Mrs. Kennedy was preceeded in death by her parents Robert Freeman Humphries & Mary Peters Humphries, her husband John Logan Kennedy, sons Joe Kennedy & Steven Kennedy, a daughter-in-law Jean V. Kennedy, brothers Cecil Humphries, Haskell Humphries & Lyman Humphries, a infant brother Clyde Humphries and a sister Helen Humphries. Mrs. Humphries is survived by a son Jack Kennedy of Shelby, sisters Sarah McMurry & Mary Cornwell both of Shelby, daughter-in-laws Jayne Kennedy, Myra Propst Kennedy, Shirley Wright Kennedy & Diane "Dee" Miller Kennedy, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Robert Rose of Zoar Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Zoar Baptist Church, Playground Fund, 1740 South Lafayette Street, Shelby, NC 28152.
