L.D. Reynolds Jr., 90, of Shelby, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013.
Mr. Reynolds, a native of Cleveland County, was a member of Westview Baptist
Church, a retired textile worker at Ora Mill Co. and a veteran of World War II
in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Reynolds also enjoyed hunting and NASCAR, woodworking and also working at
Cleveland Regional Medical Center after his retirement from textiles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. Reynolds Sr. and Vernie Mae Potter
Reynolds; a son, Alan Reynolds; brothers, Bobby Reynolds and an infant; a
sister, Vada Hamrick and a son-in-law, Reece Burris.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mildred Hamrick Reynolds of the home;
sons, Dale Reynolds and wife Jane, Shelby, and Lyle Reynolds and wife Dorothy,
Lawndale; daughters, Cordelia Burris, Shelby, and Phyllis Cooper and Gary,
Charlotte; dauther-in-law, Barbara Reynolds, Shelby; brothers, Bill and Gary
Reynolds, both of Shelby, and Charles Reynolds, Hampstead and sister, Mavis
Walker, Shelby.
He is also survived by grandchildren, Scott Reynolds, Julie McMurry, Kim Tedder,
Sherri Ellis, Brett Reynolds, Eric Reynolds, Phil Reynolds, Adam Cooper and Erin
Balduf and great-grandchildren, Chelsey McMurry, Brittany McMurry, Matt Ellis,
Cara Ellis, Daniel Tedder, Sarah Tedder, Katherine Tedder, Julia Tedder, Luke
Reynolds, Jake Reynolds and Ezekiel Balduf.
