Leroy Swafford

Mr. Leroy Swafford, age 59 of Boiling Springs, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 28, 2021.

Born October 2, 1961 in Cleveland County, Leroy was the son of the late Ray and Nancy Mathis Swafford and was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Craig Swafford of 16 years, a brother, Bobby Swafford and two sisters, Patty Crotts and Donna Willis.  Leroy was survived by his aunts and uncles.  Loyd and Gail Swafford of Mooresboro, NC, Boyd and Martha Swafford of Lattimore, NC, James and Doris Swafford of Shelby, NC, David Swafford of Lattimore, NC, Eva McCombs of Shelby, NC, Elizabeth Gibbs of Morganton, NC, and one special aunt and caregiver, Liz Swafford of Shelby, NC.

He is also survived by his children, Christopher Swafford and wife Bobbie of Fayetteville, NC, Joseph Swafford and wife Starr of Indian Land, NC, Jesseca Coryell and husband Donald of Shelby, NC and Sarah Swafford of Forest City, NC, and five grand children, Seth Swafford, Taylor Swafford, Joshua Mulvany-Swafford, Addison Swafford, and Maddox Swafford.

As long as his health permitted, Leroy loved going to auction sells and selling at flea markets.  Leroy loved the Lord.  He was a loving and caring person that never met a stranger.  He was nice to everyone that he met.

A visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3:00 pm Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Cleveland Funeral Services in Shelby.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Loyd Swafford.
