Mrs. Letha Ray Beaver, age 86, of Shelby, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. A native of Cleveland County, she is the daughter of the late William Humphries and Brunia Davis Humphries. Mrs. Beaver loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to auctions, line dancing, collecting frogs, and eating ice cream. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband C.D. Beaver; son, John Henry Beaver; four brothers, Ben, Clyde, Grady, and James Humphries; three sisters, Mattie Eaker, Mable Smith, and Susan Greene.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Bruce Beaver of High Shoals, Michael Karl Beaver and wife Dorothy of Shelby, and Malcolm Keith Beaver and wife Kathy of Shelby; one brother, Gerald Humphries and wife Donnis of Shelby; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by a special friend, Bynum Parker of Caroleen.
The family would like to express their thanks to Terry and all the staff at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center for their exceptional service to Mrs. Beaver.
