Lillian Preston

Mrs. Preston, 90, of Shelby, NC passed away Thursday February 19, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Preston was born in Chicago, ILL. She retired from the New York Department of Social Services. She was an active member of the Republican Party and the New York Elections Board for twenty-five years. She taught panio for ten years. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Babylon, New York, and a member of the FISH organization. She enjoyed cooking , gardening, playing the panio, reading and hanging out at the beach with her children.
Mrs. Preston was preceeded in death by her parents Victor Bergman & Hannah Johnson Bergman, her husband Richard Stanley Preston and a brother Leonard Bergman.
Mrs. Preston is survived by two sons; Bruce V. Preston, and Marc V. Preston and wife Emmalyn all of Shelby, a daughter and her husband Carol A. VanOstrand & Roger H. of Shoreham, NY. Also Mrs. Preston has three grandchildren Jonathan V. Preston of Asheboro, NC, and Samantha Lynn VanOstrand & Brooke Hannah VanOstrand both of Shoreham, NY.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Jeff Porter.
