Lois Broom

Mrs. Lois Broom, 63, of Shelby, NC, passed away on October 20, 2012, at her home.

A native of Maryanna, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Higgins and

Thelma Higgins.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Eldridge "Stinky"

Honeycutt.



Mrs. Broom had spent her working years in the Human Resources Department of

Ora Mill Company, the Allstate Insurance Company and as a floral designer at

Philann Florist & Betty Jo Florist.



A long time member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, she had served as W.M.U.

director and was also a state W.M.U. director.  She enjoyed designing floral

arrangements for the church sanctuary each Sunday.



Mrs. Broom is survived by her husband, Dennis Broom of the home; four sisters,

Joyce Matthews of Aubry, Ark., Linda Sparks of Millington, Tenn, Sonya Webb

of Maryanna, Ark., and Robbie Higgins of Aubry, Ark.  She was also survived by

two special nieces, Lisa & Evelyn as well as several other nieces and nephews.



Visitation: The family will receive friends at Cleveland Funeral Services

& Crematory, Monday, October 22nd, 6:00 - 7:30 pm





Funeral: The funeral will be held at Beaver Dam Baptist Church

on Tuesday, October 23rd at 1:00 pm



Officiating: Dr. Paul Sorrells & Rev. Phil Hughes



Burial: Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery
