Lois Turner Ivy, 81, of 1327 Crestview Drive, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Hospice at Wendover. She was born May 12, 1932, in Cherokee County, S.C. She retired from Southern Screen in Shelby in the shipping department.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hook Turner and Lettie Bell Turner; son, Richard Ivy; brothers, Boyd, Lloyd, Elmer, George and Jake Turner; sisters, Alma Bolin, Mattie Bolin, Carrie Grigg, Elizabeth Sisk and Alice Turner; and brother-in-law, George Appling.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Willie N. Ivy of the home; daughters, Joanne Groves and husband Bill of Alexandria, Va., Katherine Gardner and husband Bob of Shelby, and Lynne Meyer and husband Gary of Hickory; sisters, Julia Appling of Boiling Springs and Jessie Black and husband Dean of Gaffney, S.C.; grandchildren, Matthew Gardner, Katie Irvin and Jennifer Eddings; great-grandchildren, Avery, Brianna and Preston Eddings, Kayla Riley, Brandon Irvin, and Lindsay Cartee.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice at Wendover for their compassionate care given to our mother, and also to neighbors and friends for their endless love and support during her illness.
Visitation: The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
Memorial service: 1 p.m. Friday at Eastside Baptist Church
