Lonus Valentine

Mr. Valentine, 94, of 406 West Circle Drive, Shelby, NC passed away Tuesday 07-08-2008 at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Causby, Tenn. he retired from E. P. Press in Gastonia and was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church of Shelby. He served in the U. S. Army 8th. Infantry Division of Golden Acorns in Patton's Third Army.
Mr. Valentine was preceeded in death by his parents Daniel Henderson Valentine & Effie McKinney Valentine, a grandson Victor L Valentine, two brothers Orie Valentine & Lawrence Valentine, five sisters; Gertie Smith, Hazel Hale, Zola Starnes, Ressie Adams, and Cleta Valentine.
Mr. Valentine is survived by his wife of 76 years Janie Rowe Dameron Valentine of the home, two sons Lonus E. Valentine Jr. of Cherryville, NC, and Ray Valentine of the home, grandchildren Dane Valentine of Lincolnton, NC, Vevette Leonhardt & husband Steve of Lincolnton, NC, Velvet Champion & husband Tommy of Cherryville, NC, and great grandchildren Trenton & Haley of Cherryville, NC.
