Louis Collins

Mr. Collins, 76 of Shelby passed away Thursday at Hospice of Cleveland County. He was the son of the late Horace Collins and Zuna Arrowood Collins, and had retired from Dover Mill Company, was a former member of the Shelby Moose Lodge and served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by his son Donald Eugene Collins and a brother-in-law Harold Allen.
Mr. Collins is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lavonne Putnam Collins of the home, a daughter Kay Hastings & husband Dennis of Shelby, a brother Jerry Collins & wife Alice of Shelby, sisters Peggy Husdson & husband Horace of Casar, Betty Allen of Kings Mountain & Coleen Hawkins of Shelby, two brother-in-laws; Tommy Doster of Shelby and Duke Everhart & wife Sandy of Wilmington, NC. In addition to these he is survived by a special cousin Tina Davidson of Shelby. Mr. Collins has three grandsons Chad Hastings & wife Joy, Jason Hastings & Lee Hastings, great grandchildren Madison Hastings, Clay Hastings & Dylan Hastings and a number of nieces and nephews.
