Margaret Brooks

Mrs. Brooks, 90, of White Oak Manor of Shelby, formally of 507 Dennis Drive, Shelby, NC, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Hospice at Wendover. She was the daughter of the late Noah Hoyle Mauney & Lillie Mae Weathers Mauney. She was also preceeded in death by her husband, Buren Flay Brooks, a son Wayne Brooks and a sister Lallage Mauney McEntire. Mrs. Brooks had worked at Hudson Hosiery, Bost Bakery, Universal Mfg. and Specialty Lighting. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where she was in the Dorcas Sunday School Class & a former Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Brooks is survived by a daughter and her husband Betty Brooks Humphries & Charles R. of Forest City, NC, grandsons Robert Humphries, and Ricky Humphries and wife Sandy of Forest City, NC, a daughter-in-law Joann Brooks of Kings Mountain, NC, great grandsons John Humphries of Duncan, SC, Johnathan Humphries and Derrk Humphries of Forest City, NC, and a great great granddaughter Lala Humphries also of Forest City, NC. Funeral services will be conducted by the Revs. Jimmy Black & Phil Hughes, and Dr. Paul Sorrells.
