Margaret Marie Elliott, 92, a resident of Brighton Gardens of Greensboro, NC, passed away quietly on Sunday April 19, 2015.
Ms. Elliott, a native of Polkville, moved to Greensboro as a young adult and spent most of her life there. She was a career employee of Southern Bell Telephone Company and enjoyed a lengthy retirement.
Margaret was a long-standing and dedicated member of the First Moravian Church of Greensboro. She was well known for her volunteer work in both her church and in the community. She was proficient as an artist and enjoyed crafts, gardening and travel. She had many friends in the community and had the reputation for being charitable and caring among her family members and the many others who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Paxton Elliott, and Fannie Whisnant Elliott, as well as a sister, Mary Belle Elliott and two brothers, Charlie Whisnant Elliott and Robert Hoyle Elliott. She is survived by two brothers, Thomas Forbis Elliott of Belwood and John Paxton Elliott, Jr. of Lattimore, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 22nd, at Cleveland Funeral Service and Crematorium. A memorial service celebrating Margaret's life will be held immediately following at 11:00 am in the Cleveland Funeral Service Chapel. The Reverend William Lovelace will be officiating.
