Mrs. Margaret Lillian Silva Richard, age 74 of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Peak Resources in Gastonia.
She is survived by her husband, Armand Richard of Shelby, three children, Wendy Dries (Richard), Karin Der, and Marc Der (Andi), five grandchildren, Jonathan Dries, Kathryn Dries, Leslie Der, Abby Bourne, and Jessie Bourne, and two sisters, Alberta Ouellette and Jo Kinney.
Born November 23, 1943 in England, Margaret was the daughter of the late William and Ethel Silver.
Margaret was born in England and came through Ellis Island with her mother. Margaret has been together happily for more than 22 years with her husband. She enjoyed baking cakes for her family and friends and completed a professional cake baking course as well as being a gourmet cook. She was also able to enjoy the North Carolina Pace Program to its fullest. Margaret enjoyed outings at TLC as well as church outings with the Double Jolly's of Double Shoals Baptist Church. She had a full life with 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a horse at the homestead. Margaret had gone on many weekend trips visiting many of the regional attractions prior to having health problems.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 22, 2018 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Dr. Brian Johnson. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
