Martha Vinesett Greene

Mrs. Martha Vinesett Greene, 90, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023 at her residence. A native of Cherokee County, SC, she was born on, April 1, 1933, daughter of the late Coleman and Euzelia Simmons Vinesett. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Hubert Lee Greene, three siblings, Wallace Vinesett, Jack Simmons, and Debbie Anthony, stepmother, Ruby Scruggs Vinesett, and a step brother- in- law, Bob Blanton

Mrs. Greene is survived by one daughter, Carol Hoyle and husband Sonny of Lawndale, one son, Mike Greene and wife Debra of Grover, seven siblings, Buena Hester, Pat Ledbetter, Jane Raduly, Tom Vinesett, Maxine Cochran, Grace Constant, and Shirley Europa, one brother-in-law, Stan Anthony. Four grandchildren, Brad Hoyle and wife Angie of Shelby, Jason Crotts and wife Mary of Toluca, Josh Crotts and wife Myia of Fallston, and Jeremy Wiggins of Asheville. Eight great grandchildren, Tucker Hoyle and wife Sage, Cade Hoyle and wife Katalyn, Hagan Hoyle, Gabe Dunn, Zeke Crotts, Zane Crotts, Kaleb Crotts, and Evan Crotts. A special friend, Addison Leigh. One great-great grandchild on the way, and extended Greene and George families.

Mrs. Greene was a member of Sulphur Springs Methodist Church.

Mrs. Greene will lie in state at Sulphur Springs Methodist Church from 12pm to 1pm on Wednesday July 19, 2023 then the casket will be closed at 1pm.

The family will receive friends from 1pm to 1:45 pm Wednesday July 19, 2023 at the church and other times at their respective homes.

A funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday July 19, 2023, at, Sulphur Springs Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Kathy Houser, Rev. Pricilla Walker, and Rev. Paul Scott. Burial will immediately follow at the church cemetery.

To honor Mrs. Greene, pallbearers are the following: Brad Hoyle, Tucker Hoyle, Cade Hoyle, Hagan Hoyle, Bob Ridge, and William Huffstetler.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorials be made to Sulphur Springs Methodist Church, 1642 Sulphur Springs Rd, Shelby, NC 28152 in Mrs. Greene’s memory.
