Mary Cabaniss

Mary Beth Cabaniss, age 59 of Shelby, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 2, 2023.

She is survived by her significant other of 15 years, Scott Bowen of Shelby, NC, her sister, Robin Kiser (John) of Shelby, NC, her children, Tabatha Nantz (Cody) of Boiling Springs, NC, and Brandi Bunch (John) of Shelby, NC, a niece, Dr. Stephanie Kiser of Boston, MA, and a nephew Matt Kiser (Abby) of Statesville, NC and their children Corban and Callie Kiser, grandchildren, Mackenzie Nantz, Carly Bunch, and James Bunch.

Born October 14, 1963, in Cleveland County, NC, Beth was the daughter of the late Joseph Morgan Cabaniss and Betty Jo Mode Ledford.

Beth, known as “GaGa” to her grandchildren and “Boofie” to her family, had a compassionate heart and loved everyone unconditionally. She enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.  She found great joy in her niece and nephew, Stephanie and Matt Kiser.  Beth was passionate about causes and people that she believed in.  She saw the good in all situations and brought laughter to everyone.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Rash and Rev. Tom Runyon.  A visitation will be held from 12:00pm – 2:00pm prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
