Mary Elliott

Mrs. Elliott, 90, of Shelby passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby, NC. A native of Cleveland County, NC, she was retired from Elliott Sand, Stone & Gravel where she was the bookkeeper. She was a homemaker, member of Sharon United Methodist Church and served in the U. S. Navy Waves in the Navel intelligence during WWII. Mrs. Eliott was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Durham Gantt & Bessie may Turner Gantt, her husband J. Packard Elliott, and a sister Clara Mae Almond. Mrs. Elliott is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Mary Lillian Elliott Stankovic & Dragan of Gaffney, SC, a brother and his wife Bill Gantt & Wanda of New London, NC, and a Very Special Little friend Luke Carr of Shelby, NC. In addition to these Mary Frances is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family. Graveside services will be conducted by Rev. Joe Tarpley pastor of Sharon United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sharon United Methodist Church, 871 College Avenue, Shelby, NC 28152.
