Mary Harris

Mrs. Mary Sue Penson Harris, age 92 of Boiling Springs, NC, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Peak Resources in Shelby.
She is survived by four daughters, Brenda Davis and husband Harvey of Boiling Springs, NC, Betty Taylor and husband Buddy of Boiling Springs, NC, Teresa Warlick and husband Arthur of Boiling Springs, NC, and Diane Ferrell of Murrells Inlet, SC, five grandchildren, Kim Bennett and husband Chris, Sam Davis and wife Carol, Ronnie Ferrell and wife Spring, Mark Taylor, and Bryan Powell, seven great grandchildren, Hannah Ferrell, Madison Ferrell, Griffin Ferrell, Tyler Bennett, Alexander Self, Blake Davis, and Fender Powell, a great great grandchild, Braxton Ferrell, a sister, Lib Lee and husband Richard of Colorado Springs, CO, three sister-in-laws, Virginia Harris, Frances Harris, and Sarah McKnight, a brother-in-law, Jerry Harris and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born April 18, 1923 in Cleveland County, Mrs. Harris was the daughter of the late Arvis and Hattie (Davidson) Penson and was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Bryan Harris, a son, Jimmy Harris, three brothers, Yates, Roy, and Bobby Penson, and four sisters, Mae Sloan, Nannie Lee Poteat, Morie Bridges, and Lorie Greene.
Mrs. Harris enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. She will be missed by those that knew her.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, October 23, 2015 at Cleveland Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Keith McKinney. A visitation will follow the graveside service at the cemetery.
