Mary Davis

Mrs. Davis, 68, of White Oak Manor, Shelby, formally of 4028 Littlejohn Circle, passed away Thursday 12-4-2008 at White Oak. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur & Willie Campbell Mathis. Prior to retirement, she had worked for Ruppe Hoisery. She was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Group. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Davis, a daughter Wanda Jo Davis, a brother Arthur Mathis Jr. and sisters Martha Fredell and Anderson Davis.
Mrs. Davis is survived by a son and his wife Danny Davis and Susan of Charlotte, NC, and a daughter Anita Ledford of Boiling Springs, NC, a brother and his wife Walter "Peanut" Mathis and Dorene of Kings Mountain, NC. Her grandchildren are Ross Davis of Polkville, NC, and Tyler Petty of Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Davis has three special nieces Joyce Peavey of Kings Mountain, NC, Shenan McSwain and Lisa Cogdell both of Shelby, NC. In addition to these she is also survived by a number of other nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted by Rev. Andy Oliver pastor of Sandy Run Baptist Church in Mooresboro.
