Mary Kale

Mary Elizabeth Whisnant Kale, age 79 of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and Savior Christ Jesus on Thursday, July 14, 2022.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Glenn Kale Jr. of the home, two daughters, Ann Stroupe and husband Scott of Kings Mountain, NC, and Lisa Vickers of Shelby, NC, a grandson, Christopher Kale and wife Melanie of Shelby, NC, two granddaughters, Ashley Miller and husband Dylan of St. Louis, MO, and Amber Brown and husband Paul of Shelby, NC, four great grandchildren, Carter Kale, Caroline Kale, Gemma Brown, and Rhett Brown, all of Shelby, NC, a brother, Lester D. Whisnant Jr. of California, two sisters, Dorothy Chapman of Lincolnton, NC, and Pat Johnson of Lake Norman, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born November 10, 1942 in Cleveland County, Mary was the daughter of the late Lester Dennis Whisnant and Mallie Mildred Strange Whisnant and was preceded in death by two brothers, R.J. Whisnant and Charles Whisnant, and a sister, Kathern Carpenter.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.  She was a faithful member of Dover Baptist Church.  Mary enjoyed traveling, especially to Pigeon Forge, TN with her family.  Mary was a selfless woman that loved the Lord and taking care of her family.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Cleveland Funeral Services and Crematory.  A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Monday, July 18, 2022 at Dover Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Bulo Price, Rev. Mike Frazier, and Chris Kale.  Burial will follow at Trinity Baptist Church cemetery in Mooresboro, NC.
