Mary Wilma Lail

   Mary Wilma Martin Lail, age 92 of Shelby, NC, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Peak Resources in Shelby.

   She is survived by her children, Paulette Owens (James), Clyde King, and Larry Lail, all of Shelby, NC, twelve grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, a brother, Trudy Martin of Cherokee Falls, SC, and two sisters, Thelma Hughes and Bonnie Walker, both of Shelby, NC.

   Born November 3, 1930, in York County, SC, Mary was the daughter of the late Boyd Franklin Martin and Mattie Peterson Martin and was preceded in death by husband of 41 years, Ambrose Carl Lail Jr., and three sons, Billy King, Anthony Lail, and Ambrose Lail III, a grandson, Bradley Lail, and two brothers, David Martin and Noah Lee Martin.

   Wilma was a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister to many.  She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church for many years.  Wilma enjoyed reading her Bible, sewing, crocheting, completing her word search books, and spending time with her family and friends.  Her heart and home was always filled with love and laughter.    

   A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, September 11, 2023, at Cleveland Funeral Services conducted by Rev. Johnny Owens and Rev. Jerry Allen.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
