Mary Morehead

Mrs. Mary Lena Harmon Morehead, age 90 of Shelby, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Wendover Hospice House. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, January 30, 2015 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Arthur Holland. A visitation will follow after the funeral service. Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery.
She is survived a daughter, Cheryl Morehead Eatman and husband Ted of Charlotte, NC, two step grandchildren, Shannon Long of Murells Inlet, SC, and Edward Eatman III of Stuart, FL, and three step great grandchildren.
Born in Blacksburg, SC, Mrs. Morehead was the daughter of the late Higley White and Avis (Denpsy) Harmon and was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Jennings Morehead, and a brother, Higley Harmon, Jr. Mrs. Morehead was a faithful member of Lafayette Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by those that knew her.
