Mildred Cornwell

Mrs. Mildred Costner Cornwell, age 97 of Forest City, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Henderson Care Center.
She is survived by a niece, Barbara Strother and husband Ron of Florence, SC, seven nephews, Ronnie Ingle and wife Sandra of Gibsonville, NC, Robert Mitchum and wife Sherry of Columbia, SC, Kenny Mitchum and wife Sharon of Columbia, SC, Joey Cornwell and wife JoEllen of Lawndale, NC, Donald Rogers and wife Sherry of Concord, NC, Gregory Rogers and wife Doris of Gastonia, NC, and Terry Costner and wife Barbara of Shelby, NC.
Born May 23, 1920 in Cleveland County, Mildred was the daughter of the late H.J. Costner and Mary "Mollie" Beam Costner and was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Jay Hugh Cornwell, two sisters, Shirley Costner Ingle and Betty Costner Mitchum and a brother, Ned Jake Costner.
Mildred was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Forest City. She enjoyed working in the yard and spending time with her family.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Sunset Cemetery conducted by Rev. Billy Honeycutt.
