Nancy Greene

Mrs. Nancy Ellis Greene, age 86 of Shelby, NC, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, George Gilbert Greene, Jr. of Cramerton, NC, Dwight Kelly Greene and wife Holly of Shelby, NC, and Nanette Greene Fountain and husband J.R. of Rock Hill, SC; four grandchildren, Matt Greene and wife Ashley, Courtney Fountain and fiancé Matt Nadolny, Ben Fountain, and Kaley Greene; a great-granddaughter, Sadie Caroline Greene; a brother, William Yancey Ellis of Shelby, NC; two sisters, Ruth Ellis Arant and husband Larry of Indian Trail, NC and Martha Ellis Askins of Charlotte, NC; and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Ellis of Shelby, NC.
Born November 15, 1931 in Cleveland County, Mrs. Greene was the daughter of the late William Gordon Ellis and Gertha Bridges Ellis and was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, George Gilbert Greene, Sr.; two brothers, Joe Dean Ellis and James Edward Ellis; and two sisters, Margaret E. Mercier and Rebecca Ellis Peeler.
Nancy was a lifetime homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family, listening to music, and living on the farm. She loved taking care of her pets and cooking for her family and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel. The family will receive friends after the service.
