Ora Hawkins

Mrs. Hawkins, 88, of Shelby, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Peak Resources of Shelby. A native of Robbinsville, NC, she was born on January 30, 1922 to the late Robert Hardy George and Audrey Sherill George. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Hawkins, a brother Lloyd George and sisters Mae Francis and Macie George. She was retired from PPG Industries and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Hawkins is survived by a daughter and her husband Hilda Blanton & Tony, two sons and their wives Hugh Bess & Carolyn, Harold Bess and Sharon all of Shelby, Grandchilddren; Rodney Bess of Shelby, Chris Bess of Atlanta, GA, Laura Young and husband Dr. Gene Young of Shelby, Carl Blanton and wife Mary of Shelby, great grandchildren Hunter and Casey Francis of Shelby, Jessie, Jody and Jack Blanton of Shelby, three sister Sue Rippy and husband Gene of Shelby, Mary Francis Wilkerson and husband Bill of N. Augusta, SC, Nancy Jolly High Point, NC, two brothers Jack George and wife Rosalyn of Aiken, SC, and Bob George of New Ellenton, SC. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev.
