Peggy Cleaver Borders age 87, went home for
Christmas to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Hospice
of Cleveland county after a long battle with
Parkinson's Disease. Peggy was also a survivor of
breast cancer. She was a member of Calvary Baptist
Church where she served as the nursery coordinator
for over 50 years. She served 43 years with Dover
Textiles at the Esther Mill. She served as a Pink Lady
Volunteer at Cleveland Memorial Hospital as well as
Northwood Nursing Home, earning the Governor's
Award fo outstanding service 2 years and the Department
of Veteran Affairs award for 6 years of service. Born in
London, England, July 1, 1925 to the late Ernest and Dorothy
Cleaver she was preceded in death by husband Jim Fuller
Borders, son David Jim Borders and grandson Kevin David
Borders and son-in-law Bobby Joe McDaniel, as well as brother
Jack Ernest Cleaver and sister Linda Cleaver Hockney of
Cheddington, England. She is survived by her children,
Jackie B. McDaniel, Steve Borders and wife Vickie and
Carol B. Holt; grandchildren, Tammy Bracket and husband
Robert, Barbara McNeilly and husband Andy, Chris McDaniel
and wife Jamie, Daria Burns and husband Michael, Gary Borders,
Spencer Borders and wife Dr. Katie Wilson Borders, Dr. Matthew
Borders and wife Lauren, Elizabeth McSwain and husband John,
and Jim Hoyle; 18 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great
grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-law Francis Cleaver;
a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews across the United Kingdom,
and a special friend and caregiver, Mary Short.
Visitation: Cleveland Funeral Services, Saturday, December 8th,
11:00 am to 12 noon
Funeral: 12 noon following visitation
Burial: Zoar Baptist Church in Casar, NC
