Mrs. Peggy Joan Champion, 83, received the best birthday gift she had ever received, being united with her Lord and Savior on April 28, 2022, one day after her birthday. Peggy was a member of Double Shoals United Methodist Church, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, her boys and grandkids were her world. She worked at Ora Mill and later worked at Dover Mill. She smiled all the time and was an absolute joy to be around. She loved her Lord and was excited to finally meet Him.
A native of Cleveland County, born April 27, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Elmer G. and Florine Mull Peeler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Ray Champion; one son, Joel Ray Champion; and one brother, Boyce Peeler.
Peggy is survived by two sons, Bobby Champion (Chyrel Dibble), Mark Ray Champion (Sharon) all of Shelby; three grandchildren, Heather Houser (John), Amy Williams (Mitchell), and Joshua Champion; five great grandchildren, Katelyn Houser, Hayden Houser, Marshall Williams, Easton Champion, Annzlee Champion.
A Memorial Service for Peggy will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 2:00pm at Double Shoals United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Claudia Harrelson, burial will be at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church beginning at 1pm.
