Peggy Putnam

Mrs. Peggy Crawford Putnam, 81, passed away May 24, 2022, at Atrium Health-Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late George Avery Kitchen and Gertrude Lowrance Crawford. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Jewel Smith.

Peggy was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Being a nurse for over 50 years, she had a heart for caring for others. She loved animals but she especially loved her companion, Meggie, who passed away four years ago and left Peggy extremely broken hearted.

Mrs. Putnam is survived by one son, Donald Scott McCraw and wife Cindy, one daughter, Star Davis and husband Keith all of Shelby; three grandchildren, Brian Davis, Brandi Zimbelman and husband Steve, Chris McCraw and wife Morgan; four great grandchildren, Jason Davis, Madison Davis, Gunnar McCraw, and Dalton McCraw.

A private service for Mrs. Putnam will be held at 11am, Thursday May 26, 2022 in the mausoleum at Cleveland Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Andy Oliver. No formal visitation is planned.
