Ray Beason

Mr. Beason, 86, of 316 W. Grover Street, Shelby, NC, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cliffside, NC, he was the son of the late Grady Lee Beason & Hattie Ramsey Beason. He had worked for the State of North Carolina as a truck driver and as a security guard for Pinkerton Security. Mr. Beason also served in the U. S. Army. In addition to his parents he was also preceeded in death by brothers Jack, Bob, Sammy Lee & Billy Lee Beason and two sisters Lee B. Scruggs & Louise B. Moore.Mr. Beason is survived by his wife Agnes Burgess Beason of the home, sons and their wives Bruce Ward & Martha of Conyers, GA, Rev. Glenn Ward & Beth of Jamestown, NC, Terry Ward & Vivian of Lawndale, NC, Randy Ward & Debbie of Lawndale, NC, and Donnie R. Beason & Myra of Boiling Springs, NC.Ray's grandchildren are Tiffany Newton, Kevin Ward, Daniel Ward, Brandi Apple, Kelli Sturgis, Curtis Beason, Jennifer Beason, C. J. Ward & Mary Beth Ward and great grandchildren Brandon Newton, Allison Newton, Carmen Newton, and Hunter Sturgis.Mr. Beason also has two sisters Majorie Bostic of Cliffside, NC and Beth Green of Shelby, and a number of special friends that have stood by Ray and his family.Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Melvin Johnson & Rev. Glenn Ward.
