Robbie Horne Canipe

Mrs. Robbie Dean Horne Canipe, 74 of Shelby, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017, at her residence.
She is survived by her husband, Gene "Dick" Lattimore Canipe of the home, children, Angela Canipe Pearson (Steve) of Shelby, NC, Gwendolyn Canipe of Lawndale, NC, and Tracy Dean Canipe of Shelby, NC, four grandchildren, Nicole Allen, Emma Humphries (Justin), Amber Canipe, and Baily Canipe, two great grandchildren, Jordyn and Jagger Humphries, three brothers, Ray Horne (Jane) of Lawndale, NC, Don Carter (Sharon) of Brooksville, FL, and David Crews of Pennsylvania, four sisters, Lorena McMurry (James) of Shelby, NC, Patsy Marion (Bobby) of Trinity, NC, Susanna Beam of Shelby, NC, and Anne Payne (TC) of Asheboro, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born January 31, 1943 in Union County, SC, Mrs. Canipe was the daughter of the late Edward and Minnie Brown Horne and was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Louise Horne and two infant grandchildren, Anna Grace and Chancelor Canipe.
Robbie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Canipe was a member of Zion Baptist Church where she loved doing activities with her church family including mission trips and working with the children in the nursery. She was an avid Atlanta Braves and Elvis Fan. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 11:30 am Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Zion Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Matt Storie. A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:30 am prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
