Robert Brooks

Mr. Brooks, 87, of Salisbury, NC, formally of Duncan, SC, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in Salisbury. Born in Hall County, GA, on October 17, 1922 Mr. Brooks was the son of the late Cora Williams Bridges and Addison Harlan Brooks. Mr. Brooks served and retired from the United States Air Force in 1963 after 22 years serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of Abner Creek Baptist Church in Greer, SC and the Gideon's Sunday School class. I addition to his parents Mr. Brooks was also preceeded in death by a son Robert Brent Brooks. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Aileen Rainey Brooks of the home, a son Ronald D. Brooks and wife Glenda of Salisbury, NCl alnd two grandsons Walker Brooks of Chapel Hill, NC, and Logan Brooks of Charlotte, NC, and one sister Gertrude Washburn of Cherryville, NC. Graveside services will be conducted by Pastor Donel Kelley at Cleveland Memorial Park, Saturday at 2:00 PM.
