Robert Costner

Mr. Robert Lindsay Costner, 84, of 334 Sunrise Circle, Shelby, NC, died April 11, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Cleveland County. He worked in the toy industry in sales and was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church. He was born on January 21, 1927 to the late Clem S. Costner and Ada Devine Costner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Smith Costner and a sister, Jewel Costner. He is survived by two brothers, William Herman Costner of Shelby and Warren C. Costner of Sumter, SC; a sister, Virginia Costner of Charlotte; nieces, Stephannie J. Costner of Shelby, Cristy Ammons & husband, Johnny of Georgia and Cherri Costner of Georgia; a nephew, Bobby Bridges and wife, Sharline of Gastonia; six great-nieces and nephews and five great-great nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to: Pleasant Grove Baptist Church 3932 Pleasant Grove Ch. Rd. Shelby, NC 28150 Visitation will be held at Cleveland Funeral Services on Thursday, April 14, 2011 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. with the funeral following in the chapel. The Rev. Dick Hood will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
