Robert Ruppe Sr.

Mr. Robert Bruce Ruppe Sr., age 85 of Forest City, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Peak Resources in Shelby.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Huntley Ruppe of the home, a son, Robert Bruce Ruppe Jr. and wife Diane of Shelby, NC, two stepchildren, Candice Parris and husband Donald Worthington of Mint Hill, NC and Ray Parris of Spindale, NC, seven grandchildren, Robbie Ruppe and wife Angie of Shelby, NC, Cindy Blanton and husband Curtis of Shelby, NC, Brandon Ruppe and wife Pam of Shelby, NC, Matthew Ruppe and wife Kesha of Shelby, NC, Andrew Ruppe and fiancé Nicole Kaylor of Kings Mountain, NC, Camron Hartis of Charlotte, NC and Sarah Wise and husband Adam of Charlotte, NC, thirteen great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter, two brothers, Sammy Ruppe and wife Charmaine of Columbia, SC, and Jerry Ruppe and wife Mary Beth of Shelby, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born September 1, 1932 in Rutherford County, Robert was the son of the late Sam and Helen Carver Ruppe and was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Nell Epley Ruppe, a son, Ronnie Ruppe and wife Ellen, two brothers, Leon and Jimmy Ruppe, and two sisters, Wilda Cole and Linda Gibson.
Robert was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where he served in the past as a Deacon. He was a former Captain of #3 Fire Department. Robert enjoyed watching Braves Baseball and Duke Basketball. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially all his grandchildren. Robert always brought a smile to your face and will be missed dearly by those that knew him.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, February 26, 2018 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Paul Willis and Rev. Roy Byers. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to express a sincere thanks to the staff of Peak Resources in Shelby for the loving care they gave Robert during his stay.
