Roscoe Ingle

June 5, 1918 — June 11, 2010

Mr. Ingle, 92, of Black Mountain, NC, formally of Shelby, NC, passed away in Black Mountain, Friday, June 11, 2010. A native of Rutherford County, NC, he retired from Ora Mill where he was a loom fixer. He was a member of Hoyle Memorial United Methodist Church and the Shelby Community Lions Club where he was a past president, vice president, and secretary. He was awarded the Jack Stickley Award. He was a member and past chaplain of the American Legion. He served in the U. S. Army, Pacific Theater during WWII. Mr. Ingle was preceeded in death by his parents; Joel Forrest Ingle & Minnie Ford Ingle, his wife Sybil Rollins Ingle, brothers Sonny Ingle & Rochelle Ingle, and two sisters Beatrice Hamrick and Hazel Wheelus. He is survived by a son and his wife Joel Fredrick Ingle & Beth of Shelby, grandchildren Michael Louis Ingle of Shelby, Nicholas Rollins Ingle of Shelby, two brothers Bob Ingle of Shelby and Ronnie Ingle of Raleigh, three sisters Linell Bradley of Cleveland, Ohio, Louise Parker of New Prosperity, SC, and Linda Schillings of Lexington, SC. Funeral services will be conducted by the Reverend Veranita Alvord pastor of Hoyle Memorial United Methodist Church of Shelby. Memorials may be made to Hoyle Memorial United Methodist Church, 1741 Fallston Road, Shelby, North Carolina 28150.
