Roy Grady Burrus III

   Roy Grady Burrus, III passed away Monday, July 17, 2023.  He was 71.
   Roy would like to thank all of the people that he knew for making his life so blessed.  He was an excellent musician, having played with Earl Scruggs and Earl’s brother, Horace.  He held an extra class amateur radio license.  N4NYJ is now a silent key.
   A devout Christian, Roy follows his late parents to Heaven, Dr. Roy Grady Burrus, Jr. and Ella McNeill Burrus.  Left to relish his memory are brothers, Bob Burrus of Shelby, and Tom Burrus (Ann) of Carrboro, nephews, Mike, Charlie, and Sam (Elena), niece Kelly, great niece, Vaia McNeill Burrus, great nephew, John Grady Burrus, cousins, and friends.
   All Roy would ask is to “make yourself a great day.”
   A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Sandy Run Baptist Church Cemetery in Mooresboro conducted by Dr. Rick Bowling.
