Ruby Doris Ashley Clary, age 92 of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
She is survived by her children, Joy Garland ( Larry) of Belmont, NC, and Robert Clary (Heather) of Shelby, NC, three grandchildren, Jacob Clary (Jennifer Mauney) of Charlotte, NC, Joshua Clary of Shelby, NC, and Heather Burks (Walter) of Charlotte, NC, two sisters, Dot Arrowood of Shelby, NC, and Donnis Canipe Gold of Shelby, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born October 31, 1928 in Cleveland County, Ruby was the daughter of the late Jacob Brackney Ashley and Mary Jane “Janie” Brown Ashley and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Austin Robert “Henry” Clary, a brother, James H. Ashley, and two sisters, Frankie Patrick and Bonnie Jones.
Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a faithful member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where she was active in multiple committees and social senior groups. Ruby loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Ruby was beloved by everyone that knew her and enriched all that she came in contact with.
The family would like to express a sincere thanks to the staff at White Oak Manor of Shelby for the loving care that they gave Ruby during her stay there.
Due to Covid-19, the family will hold a private graveside service at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Tom Runyon.
