Ruth Mellon

Mrs. Mellon, 76, of South Oak Drive, Shelby, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at her home. A native of Cleveland County, NC, Mrs. Mellon retired from P.P.G. where she was a production operator in the roving department over 30 years. She was a member of Mulls Memorial Baptist Church. The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to Dr. Potts, Heather Willis, Kat Spangler and the entire Hospice Staff as well as Dr. Coalson, Emily & Holly of Shelby Medical Associates. Mrs. Mellon was preceded in death by her parents Rufus Mellon & Evelyn Tesseneer Mellon, and two sisters Margaret Tesseneer and Faye Albea. Mrs. Mellon is survived by her husband of 56 years W.F. "Willie" Mellon of the home, a daughter and her husband Terry M. Dixon and Don of Shelby, a grandson Jeff Dixon of Charlotte, a brother and his wife Ralph Mellon and Doris of Shelby, sisters Verl Cash and special friend Ralph Sain of Shelby, Dot Hunt and Clyde of Morganton, NC. In addition to these Mrs. Mellon is survived by a Special Family Friend Cherry Clark, and Special Friends Ruby, Vickie, & Sandra along with the special girls at her Sunday School Class, and a dear longtime neighbor Frances Church, also a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by Chaplain Kat Spangler, Dr. Bulo Price & Rev. Tripp Spangler. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
