Mrs. Ruthaleen "Ruth" Proctor Holland, age 73 of Shelby, NC, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Wendover Hospice surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Cleveland Funeral Services and Crematory Chapel conducted by Rev. Jerry Allen and Rev. Kenneth Queen. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles E. Holland, Sr., two sons, Eddie Holland, Jr. of Shelby, NC, and Jerry Wayne Holland and wife Regina Ann of Shelby, NC, three grandchildren, Miranda Holland, Bryan Franklin, and Marcie Franklin, three great grandchildren, Zackery Kloosterman who was raised in the home as a son, Wayne Driscoll, and Jay Driscoll, and a sister, Barbara Mayhue and husband Bobby of Shelby, NC.
Born December 30, 1940 in Cleveland County, Mrs. Holland was the daughter of the late Henry Frank and Sarah Beatrice (Dellinger) Proctor. Ruth retired from Kemet as an assembly worker. She was a member of the Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church. Ruth enjoyed knitting, working with crafts, sending cards to those that missed the church services, participated in the Shelby Star Bible Search where she won several bibles and gave them to the church for people that were saved. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Height Drive, Shelby, NC 28150 or to the Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church, 2506 Shoal Creek Church Road, Shelby, NC 28152.
