S. Hendrick

Mr. Hendrick, 90, a native of Cleveland County, NC, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Hospice at Wendover. He was the son of the late Solon E. Hendrick and Callie Elizabeth Shytle Hendrick. Mr. Hendrick retired from Fiber Industries. He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, member of the church choir and the J.O.Y. Group. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World and the American Legion. He served in the U. S. Army during WW II. In addition to his parents Mr. Hendrick was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Hanchar Hendrick; four brothers, Paul, Seth, Ben & Earl Hendrick, and a sister, Vernie Sue Wright. Mr. Hendrick is survived by one son Robert "Bob" Hendrick and wife Lydia of Shelby, two daughters; Jean Smith and husband Keith of Morganton, NC, and Carol Lockaby and husband Gene of Travelers Rest, SC; grandchildren, Terry Hendrick & Robin Hendrick of Shelby, Michael Summerlin of Asheville, NC, Scott Summerlin of Fallston, NC, Tracy Smith Jeffcoat of Fort Mill, SC, Molly Lockaby Bishop of Greer, SC, Megan Lockaby Spittka of Easley, SC, and Steven Smith of West Columbia, SC. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will conducted by the Dr. Reginald Dawkins, Dr. Gene Lockaby & Rev. Bill Lockaby.
