Mrs. Sara Frances Daves McKnight, 84 of Asheville, NC, and formerly of Mooresboro, NC, peacefully passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 surrounded by her family at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Reese and husband John of Weaverville, NC, two stepchildren, Susan Cooper of Thomasville, NC, and Rodney McKnight Jr. of Mooresville, NC, three grandchildren, Jake Reese of Graham, NC, Cody Reese and wife Whitney of Alexander, NC, and Travace Reese and wife Megan of Greensboro, NC, two step-grandchildren, Gary Cooper Jr. and wife Kori of Seattle, WA, and Paul Cooper and wife Kelly of Winston-Salem, NC, four great grandchildren, Celeste Reese, Baylee Reese, Abigail Reese, and Tate Cooper, a sister, Madeline Kendrick of Forest City, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born April 16, 1933 in Rutherford County, Mrs. McKnight was the daughter of the late Clarence and Eva Bridges Daves and was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Leonard McKnight and a brother, Melvin Daves.
Mrs. McKnight was a wonderful mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Her life has been lived full of many blessings. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Race Path Baptist Church, 1171 Race Path Church Road in Ellenboro conducted by Rev. Arthur Holland and Rev. Randall Cooper. The family will be available to visit one hour prior to the service at the cemetery. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
