Sara Elliott Hill

Mrs. Sara Elliott Hill, 83, passed Monday, October 31, 2016 after an extended stay at the Rock Hill Post-Acute Care Center.
Born on March 25, 1933 in Cleveland County, NC, Sara was the daughter of the late Valentine Jason and Nettie Jones Elliott and was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Mr. James F. Hill, and her two brothers, Hulan Elliott and Nelson Elliott.
He is survived by her sons, James E. Hill (Carolyn) of Polkville, NC, Larry E. Hill of Rock Hill, SC, and Timothy W. Hill (Gina) of Fort Mill, SC, a sister, Katherine Horne Bowman of Polkville, NC, a sister-in-law, Roberta Elliott of Shelby, NC, three grandchildren, Kendall Hill Shue (Nolan) of Rockwell, NC, and Hunter Hill and Ashley Hill of Fort Mill, SC.
Mrs. Hill graduated from Polkville High School in 1951 and the Shelby School of nursing in 1954. After graduation, she married the love of her life and her best friend, James F. Hill on April 8, 1955. After graduation and marriage, James and Sara moved to Rock Hill, SC. She retired as an RN from Piedmont Medical Center in 1995 after 38 years of service. She was also a longtime member of the Catawba Baptist Church and the ladies auxiliary of the Leslie Volunteer fire department.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Elliott Family Cemetery in Polkville with Rev. Ron Richardson presiding.
