Sarah Dumas

Sarah Jane Dumas, age 87 of Shelby, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.
She is survived by a brother, Edward Dumas and wife Joyce of Knoxville, TN, a nephew, Edward Dumas Jr. of Knoxville, TN, and a Godson, Mark Hamrick of Greenville, SC.
Born April 15, 1928 in Charlotte, NC, Sarah was the daughter of the late Armand John Dumas and Lena Viola (Canup) Dumas and was preceded in death by an infant brother, and a sister, Amelia Dumas.
Sarah enjoyed making greeting cards for her many friends and family. She was a former volunteer at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. Sarah was a former member of Ascension Lutheran Church and was a current member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Shelby. Sarah was a long time member of the Seniors Group at Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
