Sarah Hamrick

Mrs. Sarah Ella Thrift Hamrick, age 96 of Shelby, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Shelby Manor in Shelby, NC. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Cleveland Funeral Services and Crematory Chapel conducted by Rev.Trevor Thompson . A Visitation will be held 1:30 - 3:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Tom Hamrick and wife Amy of Shelby, NC, four grandchildren, Brad Hamrick and wife Paula of Boiling Springs, NC, Kalan Hamrick of Shelby, NC, Bill Turner of Spartanburg, SC, and Beth Robinson and husband Scott of Spartanburg, SC, four great grandchildren, Wesley Hamrick and wife Anna of Shelby, NC, Jon-Michael Hamrick of Shelby, NC, Cody Hamrick of Shelby, NC, and Jacob Hamrick of Shelby, NC and one great great grandson, C.J. Hamrick
Born October 27, 1917 in Shelby, Mrs Hamrick was the daughter of the late Allen and Mary (Roberts) Thrift and was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Watson Hamrick, a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hamrick Turner, three brothers, Charlie Thrift, Fred Thrift, and Thurman Thrift, two sisters, Ophelia Thrift and Kate Thrift. Sarah graduated Number 3 High School in Earl, NC. After high school, Mrs. Hamrick went to work for Dover Textiles where she retired after 51 years. Sarah loved gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Hamrick was a life member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be: Brad Hamrick, Kalan Hamrick, Wesley Hamrick, Jon-Michael Hamrick, Cody Hamrick and Jacob Hamrick.
