Sarah Lee

Mrs. Lee, 88, of Shelby, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009. A native of Cleveland County, she was a homemaker and loved playing Bingo, canning and freezing vegetables, going fishing and cooking for her family.

Mrs. Lee was preceeded in death by her parents Harrison Columbus Whitaker & Cora Eugenia (Jenny) Scism. In addition to her parents she is also preceeded in death by a son Michael Stephen Lee, brothers and sisters Ben Whitaker, Ellis Whitaker, Cora Lee Hamrick, Stella Turner, Lum Whitaker, Elderman Whitaker & Vergie Harkey.

Mrs. Lee is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Mark and Laura Lee of Boiling Springs, a daughter and son-in-law Sherri and Gene Cox of Boiling Springs, grandchildren Amy Johnson, Jennifer Cox, Erin Farrington, Mackenzie Lee and Mickayla Lee all of Boiling Springs, Beth Minter and Jenny Lee of Bessemer City, Evan & Miles Lee also of Bessemer City. Great Grandchildren are Jordan Coleman & Lee Miles of Bessemer City, Sarah Johnson, Lila Johnson, Dessie Ann Greene, Rachel Farrington, Bella Rose Farrington and Caden Farrington all of Boiling Springs. Mrs. Lee is also survived by her special Pomeranian, "Miss Foxy". In addition to these she is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County.

Funeral Services will be conducted by Gene Cox.

The Family is very grateful to the staff at Fair Haven Home in Bostic for their love and care during their Mothers stay. Also they are very grateful for how the staff at Rutherford Internal Medicine served Mother with dignity and love.
