A native of Cleveland County, Mrs. Lowrance was the daughter of the late George Pinkney Owens & Jenny
Amanda Goforth Owens. Mrs. Lowrance enjoyed needlepoint, camping, sewing, gardening, flower beds,
shopping, cooking and especially taking care of her family. She retired from Kings Mountain Knit and worked
for several years as a nurses aid at Garrison General & Kings Mountain Hospital. She attended Cornerstone
Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years Dr. A. V. Lowrance;
first husband Charlie Herman Hope; sister & brother, Melba Blalock & Ray Owens; half brothers & sisters,
Clyde Owens, Norman Owens, Addie Guffey, Ethel Johnson, Bonnie Owens; grandchildren, Jonathan Matthew
Hope & Stephanie Lowery and a great grandson Jason Peace Hope.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Nichols & husband Fred of Gastonia, Sheila Wall & husband David
of Shelby, sons Reid Hope & wife Debra of Boiling Springs, Mike Hope & wife Kathy of Gastonia, Jimmy
Hope & wife Brenda of Waco, Joey Hope & wife Annette of Boiling Springs; step children Dianne Whisnant
& husband John of Shelby, Teresa Brooks of Woodruff, SC, Roger Lowrance & wife Suzy of Shelby;
sisters Hazel Kiser & husband Bill of Kannapolis, Ruby Early of Statesboro, GA, Shirley Cobb & husband
Roddy of Kings Mountain; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces
and nephews.
