Sarah Towery

Mrs. Sarah "Tinnie" Elizabeth Spake Towery, 90, of Blacksburg, SC, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at her residence.
She is survived by her children, Frances Randall of Shelby, NC, Peggy Griffin of Blacksburg, SC, and Stanley Spake and wife Patsy of Blacksburg, SC, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born September 10, 1926 in Cleveland County, Mrs. Towery was the daughter of the late Cad Spake and Sally Stubbs Spake and was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James "Jim" Samuel Towery, a son, Michael Spake, two sisters, Frances Spake Prescott and Mary Helen Spake McCraw and a brother, Emanuel "Bud" Spake.
Mrs. Towery was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, going out to eat, and spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, December 30, 2016 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Jerry Allen. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Frances Randall. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Mike Wylie, Tim Wylie, Mike Mullinax, Justin Wylie, Ray Griffin, and Kobe Spake.
The family would like to express a sincere thanks to Debbie Dennis for the loving care that she gave Tinnie.
