Shirley Jones

October 27, 1930 — March 16, 2013

Mrs. Jones, a native of Bluefield, West Va., went to be with her
Lord surrounded by her loving family as they sang and prayed, Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.
Mrs. Jones was a homemaker, and a member of Westwood Heights Baptist Church, former choir member and Sunday school teacher. She headed the local missions group which baked cookies and distributed them locally. She also taught in Bible school for more than 50 years and was in ministry her entire life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray M. and Pearl Collins Cregar; a son, Donald Ray Jones and a brother, Bobby Cregar. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles E. Jones Sr., of the home; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Gene Jones and Sharon, Mooresboro, and Steve Jones and Ann, Lattimore; three daughters and two son-in-laws, Teresa Edmonson and Rodney, Mooresboro, Barbara Tidwell and Bill, Georgetown, SC, and Pat Edwards, Mooresboro; a sister, Nancy Havens, Lewisburg; grandchildren: Chad and (Melissa) Jones, Matthew and (Bambi) Jones, Amber Wesson, David and (Beth)
Jones, Kelly Meeks, Karen Freeman, Daniel and (Elizabeth) Edmonson, Elisabeth Edmonson, Lindy Tidwell and Jonathan Tidwell; 17 great-grandchildren; one
great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
