Shirley Jones

A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Julius Plato Durham Walker & Verna  McCurry Walker.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Sam Jones.



Mrs. Jones was retired from Fiber Industries, Inc. and J. & W. Restaurant in Lawndale where she was the owner and operator.  She was a member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church.



She is survived by three daughters, Lynn Jones of Cherryville, Alice Towery of Lawndale and Amy ones of the home; son, Mitch Walker & wife Brenda of Lawndale;  two granddaughters, Nicole Kaylor & husband Mark of Cherryville and Jessica Lance & husband Jeff of Shelby;  great grandchildren, Brittany Walker, Jeremiah Walker, Emily Kaylor, Owen Kaylor, Sam Lance, Michael Lance & Simon Lance; great great grandchildren, Aubree Bradley & Avery Walker; a sister, Katie Davis & husband James of Shelby and a number of other relatives and friends.
