Steven Greene

Ellenboro - Steven Mitchell Greene, age 55, of the Hollis Community in Ellenboro, NC, passed away May 19, 2017 at his residence.
Born on July 12, 1961 in Cleveland County, NC, he was the son of Grace Bostic Greene and the late Yates Greene.
Steven was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and a licensed electrician with Cleveland County School System. He was a diehard baseball fan and loved college basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Moore Greene of the home; four children, Brian Greene of Charleston, SC, Brandon Greene of Charleston, SC, Michael Walker II and wife Tabitha of Vale, Megan Carpenter and husband Lee of Rutherfordton; mother, Grace Greene of Shelby; four sisters, Margaret Spangler and husband Amos of Double Shoals, Kay Spangler and husband Pat of Shelby, Brenda Bolton and husband Craig of Shelby, Linda Brothers and husband Jeff of Wilmington; and one grandson, Michael Walker III.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 at Big Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
