Suzanne Green

Mrs. Green, 66, of 110 Pleasant Ridge Church Road, Shelby, NC passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Hospice at Wendover after a battle with liver cancer. Mrs. Green's parents were the late Will & Verdie Humphries. She lived with her aunt and uncle, Yates & Carrie Hamrick, who raised her as their own. Suzanne was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, and was a lifelong member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where she served faithfully in many roles, her favorite as Church Hostess. She was also a volunteer with American Red Cross. Suzanne was an accomplished cook and used her talent to comfort people. She spent many years in dietary at Royster/Crawley Hospital in Boiling Springs and retired from White Oak Manor Nursing Home in 2001 after 21 years in dietary management there. After her retirment she gave all her energy to her family and her church. Suzanne is survived by her husband of 49 years, Larry S. Green of the home, a daughter Aleta and her husband Tom of Charlotte; a son Keith and his wife Crystal of Shelby; a sister Mary Helen Cabaniss and her husband Bob of Shelby; a mother-in-law Ruth Canipeand a sister-in-law Judy Allen of Shelby; grandchildren Kasey, Leigh Ann, Cameron and Cole; and many family and friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Bobby Jones Jr. and Dr. Robert Reindollar for their extraordinary care during Suzanne's illness and the Hospice of Cleveland County staff for their compassion during her final days. Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Eric Davis pastor of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
